Davide Faraci is an Italian filmmaker and photographer, born in Sicily in 1988 and based in Barcelona. He trained in documentary filmmaking at the EICTV in Cuba and at the Instituto del Cine in Madrid. His recent work focuses on situations of homelessness and social hardship. His documentary Luz y Amor (2024) has been selected and awarded at national festivals in Cuba.

Daniel left Colombia and his young son behind to start over in Spain. After a job scam left him with nothing, he found shelter inside Madrid’s Barajas Airport — which, for months, took in hundreds of people each night with nowhere else to go. Through Daniel, Todo Va A Cambiar (Everything Will Change) becomes the portrait of a community suspended between the promise of a better life and the impossibility of reaching it: a film about the hope of those who keep waiting, even when the future never seems to arrive.
Luz y Amor

At Quisicuaba, a shelter near Havana known as the Casa Naranja — the Orange House, orange being a color of hope in Cuba — people arrive carrying addiction, trauma, and years of being overlooked. Luz y Amor follows Rosita, a retired nurse who has devoted her life to caring for them, and the small daily rituals through which a place of hardship becomes, unexpectedly, one of calm. Observed with patience and natural light, the film looks at care as a method — and at love and human attention as what allows a life to begin again.
